Natrue has recently published their list of Top 10 ingredients to avoid in Natural Cosmetics while David Suzuki has his Dirty Dozen.

The Natrue list:

  1. Any ingredient featuring the word ‘parabene’
  2. Triclosan
  3. Any ingredient featuring the three capital letters ‘PEG’  
  4. Paraffinum Liquidum
  5. EDTA
  6. Phenoxyethanol
  7. Chlorine
  8. Quaternium
  9. Any ingredient featuring the word ‘…propyl…’

I must admit, keeping blogs up to date is clearly not my forte. I'm realizing that it's been some time since my last post!!! So much for trying to keep a weekly update.

So what's inspired my back after so much time? Well I just returned from the Vivienne Westwood Red Label show for SS10 at London Fashion Week. I thought it was interesting to see that such a major designer who is not traditionally associated with environmental causes was actively championingThe Prince's Rainforests Project. Not only were there large banners flanking the entrance to the show, but all the packs had a leaflet and some of the models were carrying the project's mascot, a little green frog.

No Photoshop Please

The Telegraph and a number of other London papers are running with an story from Heat Magazine entitled "Stars Without Make-up". The premise is an evolution of the Dove Real Beauty adverts. Although instead of using everyday people they chose to use a few celebs to show that life is not all glamour but really the clever hand of an adept Photoshop artist such as Pascal Dangin at work.

Does this signify a move towards more natural beauty? I certainly hope so...
